Programs

February 28, 7:15 pm, Tutoring-Learning Center - Hans Schabel will talk on tree diseases and Tim Gutsch will talk on Native Trees of Central Wisconsin.

Spring tour of Schmeeckle

Maple syruping

Possible topics:

1. Rain gardens

2. Bus trip to Sustainability Fair

4. Nature Book Fair

5. Summer tour/digs and not sit and get

6. Show Me- Help Me Day

7. Spring landfill dig (May)

8. Mead Wildlife Area Tour

 

Brochure

1. Dan passed around the new brochure.

2. 500 copies will cost $113.19

3. Joe will try to create bookmarks from spare cover stock.

Proposed Donation to National

1. National has asked for money to help out with their long term debt.

2. Our current balance is $885.

3. The board has agreed to donate $100

4. Keep in mind that MREA is a $90 donation to National.

MREA

1. Cost $90 if we commit before April 1

2. June 21- 23 2002

3. Possible idea would be to have officers each take a day to coordinate.

4. We will ask for people to sign up at our February and March meetings.

5. Joe will call prairie seed Catalog Company

a. Great Lakes Nursery

b. Prairie Nursery

c. Prairie Moon Nursery

6. Possibly give door prizes away

7. Dan will contact National about selling things

Other items

1. We will support the Marathon County Botanical garden in some way.

2. A new dig is planned on the Portage County side of the Hwy 10 project. Robert Freckmann will do reconnaissance.

3. April 11 - Botanical Club of Wisconsin meeting, May 3 and 11 fieldtrips.

4. Meeting rooms can't be reserved in advance.
